Engine Rebuild Special From R10 500.00
Strip the engine ancillaries, strip the heads, rockers, barrels and pistons, strip the oil pump and fuel pump. Split the casing, check all journals for wear /damage, check cam followers and bearings, check / open all oil ports, check all oil pressure restrictors. Prepare block for line bore and cut journals for new main bearings.
Strip the drive gears and con rods from the old crank, fit new mains and all drive gears onto the exchange unit crank, check the conrods for alignment, adjust where required, fit new big end bearings to conrods, fit conrods to crank and refit into short block. Check cam bearings and cam shaft and replace if required, fit / level the cam followers and reseal the short end block. Fit the flywheel and set the end float, torque the engine casing and ensure that the crank spins freely.
Fit new rings and barrels, check / re-seat all valves, fit push rods and push rod tubes, fit gaskets, re-assemble heads and set valve clearance.
Spray Paint Engine, remove all tins and sand blast, paint engine covers and re-assemble
Rebuild all engine ancillaries, service the engine and set the timing, bench test the engine through 4 heat cycles of 5 minutes each - to check oil pressure charging and oil leaks.
Carb Service - Rectify flat spot, machine new spray nozzle valve seat, machine base and bowl, check and clean jets, pump diaphram, spring and throttle bar, reassemble and set.
The above engine overhaul includes the following spares:-
Main Bearings (Up to 40#, anything over, the price must be confirmed)
Big End Bearings
Engine Gasket Set
Engine Oil, Plugs, points and condenser.
Any additional parts to be used will be quoted for, ie
Crank Shaft, (Are the dowel holes keyed and does it need to be machined?)
Pistons and Barrels (Are they still Serviceable))
Heads (Are they cracked and must they be replaced?)
Cam shaft and followers (Followers must not be hollow and cam not worn or bent)
Oil pump must not be worn
Inserts in Block to be secure.
Excludes any additional parts not mentioned above.
